Because I can

I want to make your day. I want you to be glad you saw me today. Even though I don't know you. But should I edit myself to do that? People say, you don't smile, you don't greet, you look unfriendly... Okay, so what? Should I fake everything now? Fake hair, fake nails, fake eyebrows and a phony SMILE too!! Are you f**king kidding me?!!
I walk with my head held high. Focusing on where I'm going, without a care in the world. I curve my lips every now and then. I like beautiful things. Cute kids, old people, puppies. Yeah. I'd curl my lips a bit for that, no problem.
Until this happens "Slenda sa macatalog," I get confused. I don't know if its a greeting or an insult... How do I respond to that? I feel harassed but I'm told it is a freaking compliment and I should smile... I say hell no. For what am I laughing for? Should I really edit myself to make your day? I can curve my lips for you if you would give me some respect. I can make your day if you acknowledge my difference...
Okay..relax, I'm not bitter or deranged... No. I'm just a lady on a quest to make peace with the fact that not everyone is like me. And it's not everyone who notices that being different doesn't have to qualify you to be called weird, I mean not any two people are exactly the same. Our differences are the reason why there's so much going on in the world. Imagine if there were no Scientists or Economists for example.. Haha..no one would be after my smile then..but seriously though, the difference is a beautiful thing... Though we smile. We laugh. We cry. We don't have to do it while you watch to prove we're human, do we? Should we learn to embrace our differences in a good way, we win every time. A day made for each one, all year round... I'd definitely curve my lips for that.
