You might just want to get naked too

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you see a beggar? You probably see them on the roads while driving to work, in shopping centers, traffic lights and on walkways and think "shame, I'm glad I'm not like that" or "why don't they go find work?" All these obnoxious thoughts and alienation when in all candidness you should envy them.

I know, you probably think I'm demented, but am I really? See, homeless people do whatever they want whenever it suits them. They don't let the media indoctrinate them into being model citizens, try to be "model citizens." They do not try to please anyone, don't follow rules that were created by God knows who to govern people's lives. They do everything at their pace, shucks they even decide which days of the year to bathe on, okay, maybe that part is not so envious lol, but overall, it seems like a comfortable life compared to yours.

You, on the other hand, let a little thing that tick-tocks tell you when to do EVERYTHING. When to wake up, sleep, eat...I'm sure you can fill in the blanks. You have a job which you presumably derive no pleasure from, you work like a dog day and night just to get peanuts, all the while trying to nourish a lifestyle to please people whom you don't even know. You let the society dictate what is orthodox or not for you, you cannot even walk barefoot without being labeled "dirt poor" or "mad," hell what if you just don't like shoes? You are pressured by the media to want more, dress to an acceptable degree, eat better, have a partner and get married and do the whole white picket fence charade.

All of this fuss is for what exactly? Why do you repeat the same perpetual routine on a daily? Just to die in the end, possibly leaving behind more problems than you found? Why do you not give beggars that R2.00 coin? Because you need it more than they do right? You could use a donation too, preferably one with more zeroes at the end. After all, you have bills to pay and more pretending to do. Pretending to be happy, to have it all together to be conscious and "free" but you're not free, you're stuck on this maze that we call life, and unfortunately, you're convinced that this is how it is supposed to be.

The way I see it, the beggar you pretended not to see today is having more fun and freedom in this entrapment than you ever will,  and you should probably join him. Why not?
