Don't try

Our generation is going to die one day. I know that’s kind of obvious, but I just wanted to remind you in case you’d forgotten. You, me and everyone we know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of caring to give. Very few, in fact. And if you go around caring about everything and everyone without conscious thought or choice—well, then you’re going to get screwed.

It then follows that finding something important and meaningful in your life is perhaps the most productive use of your time and energy.

So stop trying to be more perfect, amazing, happier, healthier, the best, better than the rest. Or to be smarter, faster, richer, sexier, more popular, more productive, more envied, and more admired.

To people who matter it doesn't matter, and you know what, we no longer have to give a f**k about everything. Life is just what it is. We accept it, imperfections and all. We realize that we’re never going to cure cancer or go to the moon. And that’s okay.

Everybody enjoys what feels good. Everyone wants to live a carefree, happy, and easy life, to fall in love and have amazing sex and relationships, to look perfect and make money and be popular and well-respected and admired and a total baller to the point that people part like the Red Sea when they walk into the room.

Don’t make decisions based on emotional intuition, without the aid of reason to keep it in line, because things will always suck for you.

Don’t try to be anything else but yourself and choose to give a f**k about what you want to give a f**k about.
